Electrical Engineering Manager

Location: Minnesota, USA

A well-established employee-owned engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a growing team focused on industrial power and electrical infrastructure projects. This leadership position combines technical oversight, team management, client engagement, and business development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for industrial electrical engineering projects from concept through construction.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers while supporting their professional development.
  • Oversee the preparation of electrical design packages, including power distribution, substations, motor control systems, lighting, grounding, and control systems.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and quality assurance programs.
  • Perform technical studies such as short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analyses.
  • Support business growth through client relationship management, proposal development, and project pursuit activities.
  • Assist with recruiting, retention, and development of engineering talent.
  • Provide occasional field support during construction, commissioning, and project assessments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 15+ years of electrical engineering experience within industrial, energy, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Previous leadership experience managing engineering teams or departments.
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power systems, substations, motor controls, and electrical design standards.
  • Proven ability to lead client relationships, manage projects, and contribute to business development efforts.

Ideal Background Candidates with experience in power generation, utilities, industrial facilities, renewable energy, oil & gas, mining, or heavy manufacturing environments would be particularly well suited for this opportunity
