They are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to provide technical leadership for renewable high-voltage substation and transmission projects while overseeing external design resources and supporting project execution.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned electrical engineering professional who enjoys leading complex infrastructure projects, mentoring technical teams, and serving as a key technical resource throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Support engineering efforts related to power system studies, including short circuit, load flow, grounding, protection, transient, harmonic, and ampacity analyses.
  • Review interconnection requirements and ensure they are incorporated into project designs appropriately.

Project & Design Management

  • Coordinate and oversee subcontracted engineering resources and design consultants.
  • Supervise small design teams supporting project execution.
  • Evaluate contracts and identify technical obligations, risks, and potential project concerns.
  • Collaborate with project management teams on equipment selection, procurement planning, and long-lead material strategies.
  • Assist with preliminary engineering concepts, one-line diagrams, layouts, and estimating support for new opportunities.
  • Participate in value engineering exercises and provide input on constructability and cost optimization.

Quality & Client Engagement

  • Perform quality reviews of engineering packages and vendor deliverables.
  • Provide technical support during project closeout activities.
  • Participate in client meetings and represent the organization in a professional, customer-facing capacity.
  • Support business development and proposal efforts as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
  • Approximately 6 to 8+ years of experience supporting high-voltage substation, transmission, or renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of medium- and high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and strong coordination skills when working with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Experience with power system software such as ETAP, EasyPower, Cymcap, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, particularly IEEE standards and utility design practices.
