Role Overview
The Vice President of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) will lead the strategic direction and execution of all EHS and sustainability initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory authorities and driving continuous improvement in EHS performance across multiple sites and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to maintain operational excellence in EHS programs
- Design and implement EHS processes that promote continuous improvement
- Analyze performance data and set strategies for program enhancement
- Develop governance processes including policy creation, audits, compliance, and reporting
- Establish and monitor key EHS metrics aligned with business objectives
- Provide regular updates on EHS goals, regulatory inspections, and progress
- Lead global business continuity and emergency response initiatives
- Stay current on OSHA and environmental regulations and ensure compliance
- Play a key role in the company's ESG program, focusing on environmental and safety aspects
- Support customer and stakeholder engagement related to EHS systems
- Oversee multiple EHS projects, potentially on a global scale
Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in EHS leadership, particularly in major construction projects
- Proven track record of managing EHS across multiple locations
- Expertise in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and mitigation
- Strong strategic execution and cross-functional influence
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Technical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to respond to emergencies outside of regular hours
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
