Land Surveyor
Our client, a national civil consulting firm, is seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor for their Phoenix office. This role involves both technical and supervisory responsibilities, coordinating survey crews and office staff across a variety of projects including design, control, ALTA/ACSM Land Title, boundary, construction surveying, and mapping.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in field and office survey operations, legal documentation, and project coordination. This is a leadership role with opportunities to manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all phases of land surveys, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
- Lead survey crews and office staff in topographic, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, and construction staking surveys.
- Prepare and verify legal descriptions, plats, easement exhibits, maps, and aerial imagery.
- Perform survey calculations for subdivisions, roadway alignments, closures, and geodetic ties.
- Conduct deed research, obtain right-of-way plans, and coordinate utility locator services.
- Manage project schedules, invoicing, and client communications.
- Review and maintain field and office procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality work.
- Train and mentor survey personnel; ensure crews operate at a high-performance level.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Arizona.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying.
- Strong technical knowledge of survey methods, legal documentation, and mapping standards.
- Proficiency with survey software and equipment (e.g., Trimble, Leica, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
- Experience with ALTA surveys, plats, legal descriptions, and construction staking.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
