Principal Electrical Engineer (Power Plant/Distribution)
Position Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Work Locations: Multiple U.S. Cities (including Austin, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Muscatine)
Work Arrangement: Hybrid or Onsite
About the Role
We're seeking a driven and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to support a range of clients in power generation, plant infrastructure, and microgrid systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and values flexibility and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and layout of electrical systems for power plants, microgrids, and distribution networks (medium and low voltage).
- Develop and analyze electrical models using industry-standard software.
- Design lighting, grounding, and protection systems.
- Create schematic and wiring diagrams; prepare technical specifications.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Manage project budgets and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Conduct site visits and field assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within one year
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in electrical modeling tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability to evolving project and client needs
Preferred Experience
- Design work for military installations, central utility plants, or campus-wide infrastructure

- Hybrid schedule: 2 days in-office, 2 days remote, flexible Fridays
- Optional compressed workweek (9/80 schedule with alternating Fridays off)
