Overview

A growing engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a senior business development leader to drive expansion within the Energy & Power sector. This individual will be responsible for developing strategic client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and increasing the firm's presence across utility, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and power infrastructure markets.
The ideal candidate will bring deep industry expertise, a strong professional network, and a successful track record of winning and managing professional services engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute growth strategies to expand the firm's market presence within the Energy & Power sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with utility companies, renewable energy developers, and infrastructure owners.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue strategic project opportunities throughout the region.
  • Lead business development and capture planning efforts for major pursuits.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational teams to create winning proposals and client solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for strategic clients.
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, networking events, and professional organizations.
  • Support practice growth through recruiting, mentoring, and developing energy-focused teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience within the energy, utility, power generation, transmission, distribution, or renewable energy industries.
  • Experience working for a utility, renewable energy developer, engineering consulting firm, power advisory organization, or EPC contractor.
  • Established relationships with regional utilities, transmission organizations, renewable energy developers, and infrastructure owners.
  • Demonstrated success securing engineering, environmental, permitting, infrastructure, program management, or construction-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, capital programs, utility operations, and infrastructure development.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and manage complex business development cycles.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline preferred.
