Project Surveyor
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Surveyor to join their growing team in Pleasanton, California. This role is ideal for a survey professional with a strong background in boundary analysis, mapping, legal descriptions, and project coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed surveyors, engineers, and field crews to support a variety of residential and commercial land development projects while ensuring accuracy and quality throughout all phases of survey work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deed, title, and record map research to support boundary resolutions and survey projects.
- Prepare legal descriptions, Final Maps, Parcel Maps, and Records of Survey.
- Complete boundary calculations and corner record research.
- Support boundary, topographic, and construction surveying efforts.
- Prepare FEMA Elevation Certificates and LOMA applications.
- Conduct city and county setback and height verification research.
- Develop base maps and survey drawings for residential and commercial projects.
- Coordinate with survey field crews and manage incoming survey data, field notes, and digital files.
- Assist with project scheduling, budget management, and deliverable deadlines.
- Collaborate with survey and engineering teams to ensure project success.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of office surveying experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Boundary resolution
- ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Legal descriptions
- Parcel and subdivision mapping
- Records of Survey
- Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
- Understanding of deeds, easements, rights-of-way, dedications, vacations, and other land records.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license strongly preferred.
- Previous field surveying experience or experience coordinating with survey field crews.
- Experience supporting both residential and commercial land development projects.
