Project Surveyor

Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Surveyor to join their growing team in Pleasanton, California. This role is ideal for a survey professional with a strong background in boundary analysis, mapping, legal descriptions, and project coordination. The successful candidate will work closely with licensed surveyors, engineers, and field crews to support a variety of residential and commercial land development projects while ensuring accuracy and quality throughout all phases of survey work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform deed, title, and record map research to support boundary resolutions and survey projects.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, Final Maps, Parcel Maps, and Records of Survey.
  • Complete boundary calculations and corner record research.
  • Support boundary, topographic, and construction surveying efforts.
  • Prepare FEMA Elevation Certificates and LOMA applications.
  • Conduct city and county setback and height verification research.
  • Develop base maps and survey drawings for residential and commercial projects.
  • Coordinate with survey field crews and manage incoming survey data, field notes, and digital files.
  • Assist with project scheduling, budget management, and deliverable deadlines.
  • Collaborate with survey and engineering teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of office surveying experience.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Boundary resolution
    • ALTA/NSPS surveys
    • Legal descriptions
    • Parcel and subdivision mapping
    • Records of Survey
  • Minimum 5 years of AutoCAD drafting experience.
  • Understanding of deeds, easements, rights-of-way, dedications, vacations, and other land records.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license strongly preferred.
  • Previous field surveying experience or experience coordinating with survey field crews.
  • Experience supporting both residential and commercial land development projects.
