Retail Job Captain

Responsibilities
- Support project leadership in producing coordinated, construction-ready drawing sets across all phases.
- Collaborate with internal designers and external consultants to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
- Coordinate with landlord teams and engineering disciplines to maintain alignment throughout project execution.
- Interpret and apply relevant building and accessibility codes within project documentation.
- Track and resolve jurisdictional review comments and approval requirements.
- Prepare documentation packages for permitting and bid processes.
- Conduct on-site surveys, construction walkthroughs, and punch observations.
- Monitor construction progress and document site activity through field reports.
- Assist with construction phase services including RFI responses, drawing updates, and submittal review.
- Provide guidance and support to junior staff to maintain quality and consistency.
- Manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of experience in commercial or retail-focused project delivery.
- Experience working on multi-site programs or adapting prototype designs to varying jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam; familiarity with SketchUp and Adobe tools is a plus.
- Working knowledge of building codes and accessibility standards, including IBC, CBC, and ADA.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, consultants, and clients.
- Experience coordinating across disciplines and managing project documentation workflows.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits.
