Position Responsibilities
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader, project advisor, and client-facing representative responsible for the successful delivery of complex structural engineering projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead structural design and analysis efforts for complex industrial and commercial developments.
- Apply advanced knowledge of structural engineering principles, building systems, seismic design, foundations, and material behavior.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with applicable building codes and design standards.
- Serve as Engineer of Record when licensed and assume responsibility for signed and sealed construction documents.
- Direct multidisciplinary project teams while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Coordinate effectively with architecture, civil, MEP, process, and construction stakeholders.
- Review structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and designers.
- Manage client relationships, project communications, and strategic planning discussions.
- Identify project risks related to structural performance, constructability, material selection, lateral systems, foundations, and code compliance.
- Support business development initiatives, proposal efforts, and client growth strategies.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and occasional travel as required.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Extensive experience delivering structural engineering projects within industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or complex building markets.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, seismic design, steel, concrete, masonry, and foundation systems.
- Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience.
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Structural Engineer (SE) license.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience supporting business development and client growth initiatives.
- Familiarity with advanced structural modeling and analysis software platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 annually
