Civil Designer
We are working with a client who is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Designer / CAD Technician with proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer to support civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of design plans, cross-sections, and volume calculations for infrastructure and site development projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed civil engineering drawings using OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
- Prepare cross-sections, existing and proposed surface models, and volume calculations for grading and earthwork.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret design requirements and translate them into accurate CAD drawings.
- Maintain and update CAD files throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with design standards and project specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents and permit submittals.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical input as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in civil drafting/design, preferably in land development or transportation projects.
- Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation.
- Familiarity with GeoPak is a plus.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, grading, drainage, and roadway design.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, civil engineering technology, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal design standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
