Roadway Engineer
A respected civil engineering firm is seeking a talented and driven Roadway Engineer to join its transportation design team in Ohio. Position Overview:
As a Roadway Engineer, you will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of transportation projects. You'll work closely with project managers, clients, and junior staff to deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet regulatory standards and exceed client expectations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support the design of roadway projects including geometric layout, maintenance of traffic, drainage, and signage/pavement marking.
- Develop 2D and 3D roadway models using industry-standard software.
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to address technical challenges and ensure project alignment.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
- Participate in quality control reviews and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
- Assist in proposal development and project planning as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ohio or ability to obtain within 6-12 months.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in roadway design.
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
