Position: Air Quality Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager
Location: Greater St. Charles, Missouri Area (Hybrid Work Options Available)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented environmental professional to lead and support air quality permitting and compliance projects. In this role, you will work closely with clients across various industries to evaluate emissions, prepare regulatory documentation, and develop strategies for environmental compliance and sustainability reporting. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists, providing technical guidance and mentorship while managing project timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct air emissions evaluations and perform engineering calculations for industrial processes and equipment.
- Prepare and submit air permit applications and compliance reports in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Support clients with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and sustainability reporting.
- Communicate with regulatory agencies and represent clients during permitting and compliance discussions.
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets, including proposal development and client coordination.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and technical training.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Meteorology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in air quality consulting, regulatory compliance, or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of U.S. EPA air quality regulations and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience managing environmental projects and client relationships.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with air dispersion modeling tools such as AERMOD.
- Familiarity with MACT, BACT, and LAER regulatory frameworks.
- Knowledge of Tier II, Form R, and hazardous waste reporting requirements.
