LVI Associates is proud to partner with a leading structural engineering firm in their search for an Associate Principal to join their Sacramento office. This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned structural engineer with deep expertise in healthcare infrastructure, particularly projects governed by HCAI (formerly OSHPD) regulations.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, proven project leadership, and a passion for delivering resilient, code-compliant healthcare facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and delivery of complex healthcare projects, including new construction, renovations, and seismic retrofits.
- Serve as the primary technical and client liaison for HCAI/OSHPD-regulated projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely execution.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
- Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal development, and strategic planning.
- Contribute to firm-wide initiatives in innovation, quality control, and operational improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
- California PE license required; SE license strongly preferred.
- 12-15+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong portfolio of healthcare projects.
- In-depth knowledge of HCAI/OSHPD codes, processes, and seismic design requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and design tools (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, Revit).
