About the Opportunity

LVI Associates is proud to partner with a leading structural engineering firm in their search for an Associate Principal to join their Sacramento office. This is a strategic leadership role for a seasoned structural engineer with deep expertise in healthcare infrastructure, particularly projects governed by HCAI (formerly OSHPD) regulations.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical foundation, proven project leadership, and a passion for delivering resilient, code-compliant healthcare facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design and delivery of complex healthcare projects, including new construction, renovations, and seismic retrofits.
  • Serve as the primary technical and client liaison for HCAI/OSHPD-regulated projects.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely execution.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement, proposal development, and strategic planning.
  • Contribute to firm-wide initiatives in innovation, quality control, and operational improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
  • California PE license required; SE license strongly preferred.
  • 12-15+ years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong portfolio of healthcare projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of HCAI/OSHPD codes, processes, and seismic design requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design tools (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, RAM, Revit).
