About the Role
We are looking for a Controls Technician with hands-on experience in Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems to join our Building Automation team. This role involves installing, programming, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation systems for HVAC, lighting, and energy management.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and commission DDC controllers and associated field devices.
- Perform system start-up, calibration, and functional testing to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to building automation systems.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure timely and accurate project delivery.
- Provide on-site support and training to clients and end-users.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work performed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or technical certification in HVAC, Electrical, or related field (Associate degree preferred).
- 4+ years of experience working with building automation systems and DDC controls.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control theory.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and control drawings.
- Familiarity with protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with major DDC platforms (e.g., Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Schneider).
- Basic programming knowledge for controllers and front-end systems.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals for building automation systems.
