About the Role

We're looking for a talented Field Design & Controls Programmer to join our growing team in the Greater Boston area. You'll work with leading building automation technologies, primarily JCI (Johnson Controls) and Tridium Niagara, to deliver high‑quality BMS solutions from concept through commissioning.

Candidates with additional experience using AutoCAD or Visio for system documentation and control schematics will stand out. This role is ideal for someone looking not only to deepen their technical expertise but also to grow towards future lead or management positions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot BMS/controls systems using JCI or Tridium Niagara N4
  • Support system commissioning, testing, and optimisation on-site
  • Produce and update control drawings, network diagrams, and project documentation
  • Work closely with engineering, project management, and field teams to ensure successful delivery
  • Provide technical input to system design, project scopes, and architecture
  • Adhere to industry standards, best practice, and health & safety requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience with JCI (FX/Metasys) or Tridium Niagara N4
  • Strong understanding of HVAC controls, BMS architecture, and field devices
  • Confident in problem-solving and working independently in the field
  • Extra advantage if you have:
    • AutoCAD or Visio design experience
    • Networking knowledge (BACnet, Modbus, IP networking fundamentals)
    • Prior commissioning or design engineering background
