We're seeking a dynamic Sales Engineer to join a leading building automation firm serving the Greater Boston area. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technical expertise and relationship-driven sales - someone who can nurture existing accounts while hunting for new opportunities across commercial, institutional, and industrial sectors.
What You'll Do
Manage and grow a portfolio of existing clients, ensuring satisfaction and uncovering upsell opportunities
Prospect and develop new business across the Boston metro and surrounding regions
Conduct site visits, assess client needs, and propose tailored automation solutions (HVAC, lighting, access control, energy management)
Collaborate with engineering and project teams to scope and price solutions
Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
What You Bring
3+ years of experience in building automation, controls, or HVAC sales
Strong understanding of systems like Tridium Niagara, Distech, Honeywell, Siemens, or similar
Proven track record in both account management and new business development
Technical aptitude with the ability to translate client needs into engineered solutions
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally
