Job Description - Position Summary

POSITION TITLE: Business Development Manager, Water Treatment
REPORTS TO: Technical Sales Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to achieve sales and profit targets for the assigned market. This role is also responsible for implementing the business plan for the assigned customer base to achieve both short-term and long-term financial growth.


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Essential job functions include:

  • Serve as Account Manager for assigned Water Treatment Distributors, executing the established business plan:

    • Acquire new business by identifying and calling on prospects
    • Develop an in-depth understanding of the customer'sorganizational structure
      • Build relationships with key managers and staff
    • Expand current business by identifying and closing additional opportunities in existing accounts
    • Collaborate with water treatment distributors to strategically grow sales
    • Work effectively with internal resources such as Product Managers and Technical Service Engineers to support sales efforts
    • Manage the sales budget
    • Report quarterly and annually on business plan progress
  • Meet and exceed gross sales objectives for assigned accounts

  • Apply specific skill sets or industry knowledge to support corporate sales objectives

  • Provide timely and accurate reports on sales activities and accomplishments

  • Participate in internal strategic sales meetings to review progress toward goals

  • Demonstrate technical acumen related to product markets, applications, implementation, and maintenance

  • Train distributors and customers on product usage

  • Ensure effective communication within the sales division, with customers, and across departments

  • Attend and participate in industry trade shows and conferences as directed

  • Use time management tools and technology effectively for administrative tasks

  • Promote and adhere to corporate safety policies


SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Perform special projects as requested by executive leadership
  • Other related duties as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience: 3-5 years of previous sales experience in the water treatment industry or related industrial sales
