Position Overview:
We are looking for a seasoned Construction Survey Leader to join our team and take charge of managing all aspects of our construction surveying operations. This is a leadership role that combines technical expertise with team management, ensuring that projects are delivered with precision, efficiency, and in compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in professional land surveying, proven experience in construction survey work, and the ability to lead and mentor a growing team.
As the Construction Survey Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our survey department. You will oversee field operations, coordinate with project managers, and ensure that our survey team consistently meets client expectations for accuracy and timeliness. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the survey team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Project Oversight: Plan, schedule, and supervise construction survey activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Technical Expertise: Provide guidance on complex surveying tasks, including layout, staking, and verification for construction projects.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain QA/QC procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field staff to coordinate survey needs and resolve issues promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, adopt new technologies, and streamline workflows within the survey team.
- Client Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) with 8+ years of professional experience in land and construction surveying.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of construction surveying practices, standards, and technologies.
- Proficiency with modern survey equipment and software (e.g., Trimble, Civil 3D).
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
