COO
Overview
The COO will oversee the operational and project delivery performance of a global LNG portfolio. This includes upstream, midstream, and downstream assets across multiple geographies. The role requires a hands‑on operational leader with deep LNG expertise and a proven ability to drive large capital projects, asset performance, and organizational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Major LNG Project Delivery
- Lead the execution, construction, commissioning, and start‑up of a large-scale LNG development targeted for completion in the late 2020s.
- Oversee project planning, engineering, contractor management, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and on‑schedule delivery, with a seamless transition to stable operations.
2. End‑to‑End Operational Leadership
- Provide oversight across the full LNG value chain, including:
- Upstream production assets
- Midstream liquefaction, processing, and storage infrastructure
- Downstream regasification and power generation assets in Asia
- Drive improvements in operational reliability, safety, efficiency, and cost performance.
- Implement operational standards, KPIs, and continuous improvement processes.
3. Strategic & Global Leadership
- Contribute to the overall operational strategy for a multi‑region LNG business.
- Partner with senior leadership on capital allocation, long-term planning, and portfolio optimization.
- Provide clear operational insights to support decision-making across the business.
4. Organizational & Cultural Leadership
- Lead with a hands‑on, field-oriented approach that ensures strong visibility across operational sites.
- Build, develop, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a culture of discipline, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with limited bureaucracy and a strong bias for execution.
Experience & Qualifications
Technical & Operational Expertise
- Extensive operational leadership experience in the LNG sector, with exposure to:
- Large-scale LNG project execution (construction, commissioning, start-up) - required
- LNG plant operations and maintenance - required
- Upstream E&P operations - preferred
- Experience covering upstream, midstream, and downstream LNG operations is highly desirable.
Global Exposure
- Experience managing energy assets across international markets.
- Familiarity with operating in both Western and Asian business environments is advantageous.
Leadership Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to lead from the front in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings.
- Strong track record of delivering major capital projects safely, on time, and on budget.
- Clear, concise communicator capable of influencing at the highest levels.
- Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
