Entry-Level Design Engineer - Land Development
Salary: $70,000-$85,000
A growing engineering team is seeking a motivated Design Engineer with 0-2 years of experience to contribute to land development projects. This role involves supporting project managers in the design and documentation of civil engineering plans, collaborating with other engineers and team members, and utilizing industry-standard software tools to produce high-quality deliverables. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and draft construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, including grading, drainage, utility, and erosion control plans.
- Conduct engineering calculations, including stormwater analysis and sizing.
- Assist in preparing technical reports under the guidance of a project manager.
- Coordinate project deliverables and timelines with internal teams and leadership.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and research record drawings.
- Review and revise plans from external consultants.
- Interpret topographic and boundary surveys and integrate external design inputs.
- Manage tasks and workload effectively to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- 0-2 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in land development.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification in California.
