Position Summary:
LVI is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead client engagement and project execution within our engineering services division. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in multi-discipline engineering and a passion for leadership, client service, and technical excellence. The Director will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, oversee project delivery, and manage a team of engineers and designers. This position offers a clear path to advancement, with the opportunity to grow into a VP/Department Head role that includes significant bonus and profit-sharing potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers across disciplines.
- Oversee technical quality and ensure adherence to QA/QC processes and documentation standards.
- Manage project staffing, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery.
- Develop proposals, contracts, and cost estimates in alignment with company standards.
- Provide expert guidance on engineering design, specifications, and calculations.
- Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive service.
- Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure operational efficiency.
- Participate in hiring, training, and performance management of engineering staff.
- Support financial oversight including project accounting, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.
- Contribute to marketing and business development efforts within your area of expertise.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of MEP engineering, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical/IT systems.
- Proven experience in healthcare and life sciences facility design.
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with relevant codes (NFPA, FGI, AHJ).
- Proficiency in load analysis and energy modeling tools (e.g., eQUEST, Trane Trace, ENERGY STAR, Carrier HAP).
- Skilled in AutoCAD and Revit; LEED knowledge is a plus.
- Excellent time management, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Financial acumen and experience managing departmental budgets and projections.
- Ability to manage internal and external resources and prioritize multiple projects.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering and leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and complex projects.
