Director of Land Survey
As the Director of Land Surveying, you will be responsible for overseeing all land surveying operations, managing a team of survey professionals, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to strategic growth. This is a senior leadership role ideal for someone with deep technical expertise, strong leadership qualities, and a vision for the future of geospatial services.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of surveyors, technicians, and field crews
Oversee project scoping, scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance
Maintain professional licensing and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Cultivate and manage client relationships, assist in business development and proposal writing
Implement the latest surveying technologies including UAVs, LiDAR, GPS, and robotic total stations
Collaborate with civil engineering, GIS, and planning departments
Provide mentorship and professional development for junior staff
Qualifications:
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Arizona (required)
10+ years of progressive land surveying experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role
Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and GIS platforms
Strong knowledge of boundary law, ALTA/NSPS surveys, topographic, and construction staking
Excellent communication, team leadership, and organizational skills
Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
