Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Distribution Design Engineer with extensive experience in overhead electric distribution systems for large-scale utility projects, specifically with PECO and/or PPL Electric Utilities. This role will lead design efforts, coordinate with clients and internal teams, and ensure the successful execution of complex distribution projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of overhead electric distribution systems for utility-scale projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for PECO and/or PPL projects, ensuring compliance with utility standards and specifications.
- Oversee and mentor junior designers and drafters, providing technical guidance and quality assurance.
- Prepare detailed design packages including plan and profile drawings, construction work orders, and material lists.
- Coordinate with utility engineers, project managers, and field personnel to gather data and resolve design challenges.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure successful execution.
- Utilize design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or utility-specific platforms (e.g., GE Smallworld, O-Calc, etc.).
- Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in electric distribution design, with a focus on overhead systems.
- Proven experience working on PECO and/or PPL utility projects.
- Strong understanding of utility standards, construction practices, and permitting processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software and utility design tools.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
