Distribution Project Manager
Position Overview:
The Distribution Project Manager will manage multiple projects through the lifecycle from inception to closeout. This role requires a deep understanding of utility operations, regulatory compliance, and project lifecycle management. You'll work closely with engineering, field operations, and regulatory teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage distribution projects including overhead and underground electric systems
- Coordinate with utility stakeholders, contractors, and permitting agencies
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans
- Manage a portfolio of projects up to $30M
- Ensure compliance with NESC, OSHA, and local utility standards
- Lead cross-functional teams through design, procurement, construction, and commissioning
- Track project performance using KPIs and reporting tools
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field
- 5+ years of project management experience in electric utility distribution
- Distribution line design experience is preferred
- Strong knowledge of utility standards, GIS, and distribution design software
- PMP certification or equivalent preferred
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills
- Travel up to 10% is required
