Senior Electrical Design Engineer 3 - Phoenix Preferred

About the Role:
We're looking for a seasoned Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll take ownership of producing high-quality construction documents-drawings and specifications-while ensuring projects stay on scope, budget, and schedule. You'll also provide expert consulting services, including engineering analyses and design recommendations, and collaborate closely with Project Managers and Professional Engineers on planning and design efforts.

This position offers the opportunity to lead select projects, mentor junior team members, and make a tangible impact on innovative electrical design solutions.


What You'll Do:

  • Drive timely completion of projects and maintain schedules.
  • Prepare design computations and studies, including load, fault current, illumination, voltage regulation, and protection device coordination.
  • Research codes and regulations, liaising with officials to resolve project issues.
  • Assist with scopes, fees, and cost opinions for proposed projects.
  • Attend client meetings and on-site walkthroughs, contributing to presentations and plan reviews.
  • Analyze drawings and test results to inform design decisions.
  • Explore design options and deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Supervise and mentor junior designers and CADD technicians.
  • Review shop drawings and contractor submittals for compliance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and Facility Condition Assessments (FCA).

What We're Looking For:

  • 12+ years of design experience, primarily in the AEC industry.
  • Technical or Associate Degree in engineering design or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Office.
  • Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with lighting software (Visual and/or AGI32) and indoor/outdoor lighting design.

Preferred Skills:

  • Business development experience, including client engagement and proposal development.
  • Strong presentation and interview skills.
  • Working knowledge of medium voltage design.
  • A passion for growing client relationships and expanding the business.
