A well-established, privately owned engineering consulting firm with a strong regional presence and a reputation for delivering technically sound, client-focused solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its growing team. The firm has decades of experience in designing and managing complex building systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments, with a particular focus on multifamily housing and urban infrastructure.

Position Overview:

This role is ideal for a licensed or experienced Electrical Engineer who is passionate about designing safe, efficient, and code-compliant electrical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the electrical engineering scope of projects from concept through construction, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems. The position requires strong technical knowledge, project coordination skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, architects, and other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineer and oversee the design of electrical systems for commercial and residential buildings, including power, lighting, receptacles, and fire alarm systems.
  • Lead coordination efforts with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with architectural and mechanical designs.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and calculations in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Conduct site visits and attend client meetings to support design development, resolve field issues, and ensure quality control.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff and designers.
  • Maintain project schedules and budgets while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering for building systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree a plus.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required; experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite is also essential.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, local building codes, and industry standards.
  • Experience with multifamily residential projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits and client coordination.
