This is an opportunity with an employee-owned geotechnical and environmental consulting firm serving the Colorado Front Range. They specialize in subsurface investigations, foundation engineering, construction materials testing, and forensic evaluations for residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects.

Position Overview:

They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support and lead subsurface investigations, foundation design, and construction-phase services for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, field experience, and a collaborative mindset to work closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute geotechnical investigations including drilling oversight, sampling, and in-situ testing.
  • Analyze soil and rock data to develop foundation recommendations for shallow and deep systems.
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, slope stability analyses, and pavement design recommendations.
  • Conduct field inspections and construction observation for earthwork, foundations, and retaining structures.
  • Coordinate laboratory testing programs and interpret results for engineering applications.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to clients, design teams, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support proposal development and project scoping.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal QA/QC processes.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • 3-8 years of geotechnical consulting experience preferred.
  • E.I.T. required; PE license in Colorado preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., gINT, GeoStudio, LPILE).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass pre-employment screening.
