Geotechnical Engineer
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our team. This role involves a mix of technical expertise, project management, and client interaction. You will play a key part in ensuring safety compliance, delivering high-quality geotechnical solutions, and driving business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations (OSHA, MSHA, and site-specific standards).
- Perform and manage field quality control tests and maintain accurate production records.
- Resolve drawing interpretation issues, conflicts, and errors.
- Conduct basic field surveys, prepare sketches, and support construction activities.
- Prepare RFIs, assist with change orders, and support claim analysis.
- Ensure installations adhere to quality control standards.
- Track invoices, manage documentation, and handle proper submittals.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on geotechnical and structural analysis.
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
- Prepare geotechnical designs, cost estimates, and proposals for ground improvement solutions.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and architects throughout the sales process.
- Negotiate contract terms and support marketing efforts through trade shows and technical presentations.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of geotechnical design principles and calculations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with AutoCAD.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to observe and work diligently in dynamic environments.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
- Prior experience in geotechnical construction or related techniques is a plus.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
- Lift up to 25 lbs and traverse job sites in varying weather conditions.
