Hawaii Project Manager

A well-established construction firm is seeking a talented Project Manager to join its team. This company specializes in roofing and general contracting and is looking for a self-motivated professional with experience in construction project management. The role involves overseeing federal and private construction projects across the Hawaiian Islands.

The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring all contracted work is executed according to contract documents, budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. This includes managing subcontractors and suppliers, as well as directing on-site superintendents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all phases of construction projects, from planning to closeout.
  • Monitor project performance against budgets and prepare variance reports.
  • Develop project objectives, schedules, and cost plans.
  • Manage field personnel and subcontractors across multiple locations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and manage change orders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Prepare and submit progress reports, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and government agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing federal construction projects.
  • Familiarity with agencies such as DoD, GSA, VA, or USACE and federal contracting procedures.
  • BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with construction methods and project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance if required.
  • Experience with EM 385-1-1 and NAVFAC/USACE standards.
  • Ability to travel across multiple islands and coordinate union/non-union workers.
  • Knowledge of Hawaii labor laws and prevailing wage requirements.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to access high-security government installations.
