📍 Location: Walnut Creek, California
💵 Salary Range: $90,000 - $170,000/year (commensurate with experience and licensing)
Our Northern California-based client is looking for a licensed and experienced Office Land Surveyor to lead their survey department and manage a variety of land surveying projects. This is a leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment and is ready to make a lasting impact.
Your Role
As an Office Land Surveyor, you'll oversee both field and office operations, ensuring precision, efficiency, and client satisfaction. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing survey teams on staking, boundary, topographic, and drone survey projects
- Leading daily operations and coordination within the survey department
- Preparing lot line adjustments, parcel maps, final maps, condominium plans, and ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
- Drafting plat maps and legal descriptions
- Signing contracts, maps, and official documents
- Attending project meetings and public hearings as needed
- Representing DK Engineering in client interactions and public forums
- Mentoring junior staff and sharing technical expertise
What You Bring
We're seeking candidates with:
- 8+ years of experience in land surveying, or a Bachelor's degree in Surveying plus 4+ years of experience
- California Professional Land Surveyor license or LSIT certification with readiness to take the LS exam
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with 3D mapping technologies
- Experience overseeing field and office standards and procedures
- Excellent time management and communication skills
