Mechanical VDC III
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of detailed 3D models for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems using Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
- Oversee and participate in clash detection, resolution, and coordination with other trades and disciplines.
- Interpret and analyze contract documents, specifications, and field conditions to produce constructible and code-compliant models.
- Generate fabrication-ready shop drawings, spool sheets, and material take-offs.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field supervisors to ensure alignment between design intent and field execution.
- Represent the VDC team in coordination meetings and communicate technical decisions effectively.
- Maintain and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and quality control procedures.
- Mentor and support junior VDC staff, providing guidance on modeling techniques, software use, and project coordination.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical detailing or VDC coordination within the construction industry.
- Expert-level proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems, including fabrication and installation practices.
- Proven experience in BIM coordination and clash resolution on large-scale commercial projects.
- Familiarity with SMACNA standards and local building codes.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Trimble SysQue, Fabrication CADmep, or similar detailing platforms.
- Background in field installation or mechanical contracting.
- Experience working in a collaborative BIM environment with multiple trades.
