Job Description:
A growing engineering firm is seeking a Mid-Level Water Engineer with strong technical expertise and a passion for client engagement. This role involves a mix of project management (60%) and client relationship development (40%), supporting a variety of water infrastructure projects including water treatment, stormwater, conveyance, and pump station design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and deliver water infrastructure projects from concept through construction
- Design water treatment systems, stormwater management solutions, utility conveyance systems, and pump stations
- Lead project teams and coordinate with internal staff and subconsultants
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing municipal and private clients
- Conduct regular client meetings to review progress, gather feedback, and identify new opportunities
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and permit applications
- Provide QA/QC oversight and ensure compliance with applicable standards
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required
- 7-10 years of relevant experience in water infrastructure or land development projects
- Proven experience managing projects and working directly with clients
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex problems and exercise sound judgment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and familiarity with hydraulic modeling tools
Preferred Experience:
- Experience designing multiple land development and/or municipal utility projects
- Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental regulations
- Ability to travel occasionally for client meetings and site visits
