Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead large-scale multifamily residential construction projects in the Chicago area. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing wrap and podium-style buildings with budgets exceeding $50 million. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex construction projects from pre-construction through close-out.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all phases of multifamily construction projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and on budget.
Lead project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement efforts.
Manage relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and city officials.
Coordinate with field superintendents to ensure alignment between office and site operations.
Monitor project performance, including cost control, quality assurance, and risk management.
Prepare and present regular project updates and reports to stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Lead project meetings and facilitate effective communication across all teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 7-10 years of experience in construction project management, with at least 3 years managing $50M+ multifamily projects.
Proven experience with wrap and podium construction in urban environments.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and budgeting tools.
Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite).
Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Chicago building codes, permitting, and inspections.
LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable building practices.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
