Civil Engineering Manager - Wind Power Projects (Onshore)

Location: Tokyo, Japan

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Manager to lead and support the development, design, and construction of onshore wind power projects. This role involves working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful execution of civil engineering aspects throughout the project lifecycle.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee civil engineering planning and execution for onshore wind projects
  • Provide technical support to the project development team
  • Prepare RFPs and evaluate bids for Balance of Plant (BOP) civil works
  • Manage detailed design processes and review construction methodologies
  • Assess costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction through innovative technologies and contracting strategies
  • Coordinate with turbine suppliers on civil engineering deliverables and interface requirements
  • Prepare and submit construction plans to regulatory authorities, including ClassNK certification
  • Support project managers and assist with project financing processes
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams in Tokyo and the global headquarters

Requirements

  • Proven experience in civil engineering for onshore wind project development and construction
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent Japanese and English communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in civil engineering
  • Experience in civil design, construction site management, and cost estimation
  • Relevant certifications such as Civil Construction Management Engineer or Professional Engineer (Japan)
  • Proficiency in English or willingness to improve through work (bilingual support available)
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD

Working Conditions

  • Work Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (flexible hours available)
  • Location: Tokyo, Japan
