Overview

An engineering-focused organization is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead overhead transmission line projects. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary teams, overseeing project execution, and supporting client engagement across complex infrastructure initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead teams of engineers and technical staff on multiple or large-scale projects
  • Oversee design quality, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate across engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery
  • Perform and review complex engineering calculations and design outputs

Client & Business Engagement

  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients
  • Identify client needs and develop solutions
  • Support proposals, business development, and project pursuits
  • Manage project changes in coordination with leadership

Technical Oversight

  • Provide technical leadership for high-voltage overhead transmission line projects
  • Guide design efforts including routing, structural loading, and foundation design
  • Ensure alignment with engineering standards and best practices

Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor engineering staff
  • Review and approve work produced by junior team members
  • Participate in hiring, performance management, and team development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing EPC or engineering design projects related to transmission lines
  • Strong knowledge of high-voltage transmission design tools and methodologies (e.g., line modeling software, structural analysis)
  • Familiarity with the full project lifecycle, including permitting, procurement, and construction support
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to meet standard pre-employment requirements (e.g., background screening)

Work Environment

  • Hybrid or flexible work options may be available
  • Occasional travel to project or client sites
  • Office-based work with extended computer use
