Senior Project Manager
Location: Austin, TX
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead complex mechanical construction projects in the Austin market. This individual will be responsible for overseeing projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring safe execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, plumbing), excels in client-facing roles, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead all phases of construction projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout
- Manage project teams, including engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and support staff
- Drive project success with a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
Financial Management
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting
- Track job performance and proactively address cost variances
- Negotiate contracts, change orders, and subcontract agreements
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, and design teams
- Build and maintain long-term client relationships
- Lead meetings and provide clear communication on project status and risks
Preconstruction & Planning
- Participate in estimating, value engineering, and project planning
- Review drawings, specifications, and scopes to ensure alignment with project goals
- Support business development efforts and identify growth opportunities
Execution & Delivery
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
- Collaborate with field leadership to resolve issues and maintain productivity
- Implement best practices in project scheduling, procurement, and coordination
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience managing mechanical construction projects (HVAC, piping, plumbing)
- Proven ability to manage project financials and schedules
- Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
Experience Levels
- Project Manager: 5+ years of relevant experience
- Senior Project Manager: 8-12+ years, including leadership of large/complex projects
Preferred
- Experience with large-scale commercial, healthcare, or mission-critical/data center projects
- Familiarity with project management software (Procore, P6, Bluebeam, etc.)
- Strong understanding of contract delivery methods (Design-Build, GMP, etc.)
