Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking an experienced Principal or Associate Principal Consultant to spearhead their Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) business line in Hong Kong. This strategic role combines leadership, business development, and technical expertise to drive growth across Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
About the Role
The successful candidate will oversee EDD services, including business development, client relationship management, and team leadership. They will also support other environmental service areas such as EIAs, EM&A, permitting, and site planning. Reporting to the Country Manager, this individual will mentor a diverse team, recruit new talent, and shape the vision for a profitable and expanding business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary lead for transaction services in Hong Kong with a regional focus.
- Drive business development and manage projects, dedicating approximately 35-40% of time to technical delivery.
- Lead environmental due diligence (EDD/ESDD) and related services, collaborating across other business areas where relevant.
- Manage the transaction team across the enterprise, ensuring high-quality solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Mentor and develop team members to achieve professional excellence.
Ideal Profile
- 10-15 years of experience in environmental consulting, ideally with similar scope.
- Degree in Environmental Engineering, Management, Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Strong analytical, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and work effectively in diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills; client management experience is a plus.
- Professional credentials such as MHKIE (Env) or MHKIQEP are advantageous.
