Job Title: Product Manufacturing & Asset Operations Supervisor (Wastewater Treatment Systems)
Location: Hybrid (Remote, Northern Utah Region)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation Range: $110,000-$150,000
🛠️ Position Summary
A technically skilled and experienced supervisor is sought to lead the manufacturing and lifecycle operations of custom-engineered water and wastewater treatment systems. These systems include skidded equipment, steel tanks, chemical feed systems, and automated membrane bioreactor (MBR) units. The role oversees both production activities and post-deployment asset management, ensuring systems are built to specification, delivered on schedule, and supported throughout their operational life.
đź”§ Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Oversight
* Supervise production teams across steel fabrication, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical installation, and factory testing
* Ensure compliance with technical drawings, P&IDs, and water treatment quality standards
* Collaborate with engineering and contractors to resolve build issues and manage non-conformances
* Drive production scheduling, labor planning, and material readiness
Asset Management
* Oversee inventory and lifecycle tracking of completed treatment systems, including rentals and field-deployed units
* Maintain detailed records of build dates, serial numbers, condition, and client assignments
* Coordinate mobilization/demobilization with logistics and field service teams
* Support preventive maintenance, refurbishment, and readiness assessments
* Manage return inspections and prepare units for redeployment
Leadership & Team Development
* Lead a cross-functional team of welders, electricians, assemblers, and test technicians
* Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and quality aligned with industry best practices
* Conduct contractor/vendor performance reviews and support cross-training initiatives
Process Optimization & Compliance
* Apply lean manufacturing principles and 5S organization to improve efficiency
* Ensure compliance with environmental and industry regulations (NFPA, UL, OSHA)
* Lead efforts to reduce downtime, rework, and material waste
🎓 Qualifications
* 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or operations within water/wastewater treatment
* Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and system integration
* Experience with production planning, quality assurance, and cross-functional team management
* Familiarity with steel fabrication, industrial coatings, mechanical/electrical assembly
* Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs
Preferred:
* Experience managing rental MBR systems and related equipment (e.g., membranes, blowers, mixers)
* Working knowledge of ERP or asset management software (e.g., CMMS, QuickBooks)
* Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing and commissioning coordination
