Environmental Engineer - Irvine, CA

Full-Time | Hybrid Schedule | $100K-$120K + ESOP + 401(k) + Full Benefits

An established engineering and environmental consulting firm is seeking a motivated Environmental Engineer to support site investigation and remediation projects for industrial, commercial, and municipal clients across Southern California.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field investigations including soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and stormwater sampling.
  • Operate and maintain remediation systems such as soil vapor extraction (SVE), air sparging, vapor intrusion mitigation, and NAPL recovery.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities and ensure compliance with project scopes and safety protocols.
  • Analyze environmental data and develop conceptual site models to support risk assessments and remedial strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design remediation systems and prepare technical documentation.
  • Perform construction quality assurance (CQA) observations and support system installations.
  • Prepare design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Draft technical reports, work plans, and regulatory deliverables.
  • Communicate with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and task management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 3-7 years of experience in environmental consulting, site remediation, or related engineering work.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or intent to pursue PE licensure.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fieldwork experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work on hazardous waste sites.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work 10-hour field days as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with a desire for professional growth and learning.
