About the Role
A respected engineering consultancy is seeking a technically strong and highly organized Project Manager to lead projects within its Building Technology division. This team focuses on the performance of building envelopes-applying engineering principles, physics, and materials science to ensure buildings are durable, energy-efficient, and resistant to water infiltration. As a Project Manager, you'll oversee investigations, design work, and repair projects, while mentoring junior staff and managing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage building envelope projects from concept through completion
  • Coordinate field investigations and oversee site visits, including work at heights and on scaffolding
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules
  • Prepare and review technical reports and design documents
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
  • Mentor junior engineers and consultants
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5+ years of professional experience in building technology or related fields
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT required
  • Strong technical background in building envelope systems and construction
  • Proven experience managing projects and leading teams
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
  • Ability to work at heights and on scaffolding

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools
  • Background in forensic engineering, building diagnostics, or repair design
  • Familiarity with industrial rope access or hands-on mechanical work
  • Strong leadership, accountability, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
