About the Role
A respected engineering consultancy is seeking a technically strong and highly organized Project Manager to lead projects within its Building Technology division. This team focuses on the performance of building envelopes-applying engineering principles, physics, and materials science to ensure buildings are durable, energy-efficient, and resistant to water infiltration. As a Project Manager, you'll oversee investigations, design work, and repair projects, while mentoring junior staff and managing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage building envelope projects from concept through completion
- Coordinate field investigations and oversee site visits, including work at heights and on scaffolding
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Prepare and review technical reports and design documents
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Mentor junior engineers and consultants
- Ensure quality control and compliance with industry standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of professional experience in building technology or related fields
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; EIT required
- Strong technical background in building envelope systems and construction
- Proven experience managing projects and leading teams
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report
- Ability to work at heights and on scaffolding
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools
- Background in forensic engineering, building diagnostics, or repair design
- Familiarity with industrial rope access or hands-on mechanical work
- Strong leadership, accountability, and problem-solving skills
