Project Manager - Water Resources/Storm water
Location: Kansas City, Missouri

Our client is seeking a talented and driven Project Manager to support our client's growth and expanding project portfolio in the Kansas City area. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse infrastructure projects that promote sustainable and resilient communities.

About the Role

You'll collaborate with engineering teams and regional stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions across a range of municipal infrastructure projects. These may include:

  • Treatment plants
  • Distribution and collection systems
  • Pumping facilities
  • Stormwater systems

Project scopes involves:

  • Master planning and asset management
  • Condition assessments and infrastructure improvements
  • Water quality studies and treatment plant upgrades
  • Critical water reuse initiatives

This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of water infrastructure in the region while working with a team that values innovation, technical excellence, and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of water, wastewater, and stormwater utility projects
  • Lead or assist in the design of sanitary and stormwater sewer systems, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling
  • Contribute to the development and marketing of stormwater services in the Kansas City area
  • Coordinate with internal technical leads and manage project resources
  • Oversee design phases including preliminary and detailed design, cost estimating, bidding, and construction support
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, partners, and project teams
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development
  • Assist with proposal development and business development activities
  • Minimal travel required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • 8-12 years of experience in infrastructure and stormwater projects
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Proven experience managing water infrastructure projects through all phases
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work within budget and schedule

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Business Administration
  • Active involvement in professional associations
