Project Manager - Water

My client is seeking a skilled Water Project Manager to lead and oversee innovative water infrastructure projects. This role will be instrumental in planning, executing, and optimizing water-related initiatives that address community and environmental needs. The ideal candidate brings strong project management experience, engineering expertise, and a commitment to environmental stewardship.


Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope, schedule, budget, and objectives
  • Develop detailed statements of work and work breakdown structures
  • Gain internal and external stakeholder approval on project aspects
  • Assess risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure adherence to project management policies and procedures
  • Manage project costs and ensure profitability
  • Identify and communicate residual risk (cost and time)
  • Review client billings and follow up on outstanding invoices
  • Approve subcontractor/vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans accordingly
  • Oversee change management processes
  • Ensure project safety plans are reviewed and implemented
  • Address audit corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Apply standard engineering or construction techniques and judgments
  • Provide guidance to designers, engineers, subcontractors, and other team members
  • Develop and manage project staffing plans, including use of external resources
  • Communicate project deadlines, assignments, and expectations
  • Coach and provide performance feedback to staff
  • Escalate performance issues as needed
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Ensure on-time, high-quality deliverables and manage client expectations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Note: Travel frequency may vary depending on project needs and responsibilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of related project management experience
  • PMP (PMI), CCM, or DBIA certification required within 12 months of hire or promotion
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant certification in area of practice
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally, if needed
  • Experience with project management methodologies including budget planning, scheduling, assurance protocols, software tools, and financial principles
  • Strong understanding of project strategy, risk management, and opportunity assessment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across staff levels and with vendors
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Exceptional organizational skills to prioritize high volumes of work

Compensation:

  • Base Salary Range: $99,237 - $173,680
  • This salary range reflects a good faith estimate across all experience levels for the position and is based on geographic location
  • Actual compensation may vary based on role responsibilities, experience, education, and key skills
  • Bonuses may be awarded at the company's discretion and may or may not apply to this position

  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States
