Role Overview:

The Scheduling Manager will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and analyzing detailed project timelines for large-scale construction efforts, typically totaling around $250 million annually. This role also supports proposal development and provides insights into scheduling trends, risks, and performance metrics for operational and leadership teams.

This position involves overseeing internal project schedules and reviewing those submitted by external partners. A strong understanding of construction methods, logistics, materials, equipment, team structuring, and sequencing is essential. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication and leadership capabilities. Proficiency in Primavera P6 is a must.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Facilitate planning sessions and scheduling workshops with project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project leads to establish and approve baseline schedules.
  • Update schedules with current data and analyze impacts to critical paths.
  • Provide performance forecasts based on progress and productivity rates.
  • Identify and communicate potential scheduling risks.
  • Develop contingency plans and alternative scheduling scenarios.
  • Maintain documentation to support dispute avoidance.
  • Conduct schedule audits and peer reviews.
  • Integrate labor and cost tracking into schedules.
  • Promote continuous improvement in scheduling practices.
  • Offer training and mentorship on scheduling tools and techniques.

  • Prioritize safety and model safe practices on-site.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and meet project deadlines.
  • Foster positive relationships across teams and with external partners.
  • Support a collaborative, matrix-style organizational structure.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in scheduling or a related construction field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • In-depth knowledge of construction logistics, sequencing, materials, and crew planning.
  • Experience in industrial construction is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, including cost and resource loading.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex project documentation and identify trends.

Preferred:

  • On-site construction experience (role is primarily on-site)
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) or productivity analysis.
  • Ability to anticipate project performance and proactively address scheduling risks.
