The Opportunity
A growing renewable energy engineering group is seeking a Senior Renewable Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design efforts for large-scale solar and energy storage projects. This role offers technical ownership, client interaction, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Hybrid work from a U.S. office is preferred, though remote candidates will be considered.
What You'll Do
- Lead electrical design for utility-scale solar PV, BESS, and hybrid renewable projects (5 MW-100+ MW).
- Develop and review electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, and construction documents.
- Perform and oversee power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, grounding, and protection coordination.
- Support clients with renewable integration and interconnection planning.
- Coordinate electrical scope, schedules, and resources across multiple projects and offices.
- Guide equipment selection and technical evaluations.
- Communicate clearly with clients, internal teams, and vendors.
- Travel to project sites occasionally (~10%).
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Approximately 8-10 years of experience in renewable energy or power systems.
- PE license, EIT, or ability to obtain PE licensure.
- Experience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, ETAP/SKM, and protection systems (SEL preferred).
- Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
