Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. This role offers the opportunity to work on impactful design and construction projects that shape communities and advance infrastructure. You will engage in diverse aspects of electrical engineering, including power system design, analysis, and construction support, while leveraging cutting-edge tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design complex electrical systems, including master plans, power distribution, protection schemes, generation models, and renewable energy solutions.
  • Conduct power system studies and perform calculations for electrical systems, lighting layouts, communication systems, fire alarms, and security systems.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and white papers to support knowledge sharing and innovation.
  • Perform site evaluations to ensure designs meet location-specific requirements and update plans as needed.
  • Contribute to technical knowledge development by creating specialized design documentation and submitting papers for industry publications.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to prepare proposals and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in client meetings to assess current and future design needs.
  • Represent the organization at conferences and industry events to enhance visibility and share expertise.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers; may supervise project work.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support project success.

Location & Work Model

This position is based in Phoenix, AZ, with potential for hybrid work arrangements. Occasional travel (approximately 5%) may be required depending on project needs.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience designing power systems for water, wastewater, industrial, federal, or transit facilities.
  • Proficiency in medium and low-voltage power distribution design.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, NESC, IEEE, UFC).
  • Experience with power system analysis software such as SKM or ETAP.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and understanding of regulatory requirements.
