Position Overview: As the Electrical Engineer Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of project-specific proposals, ensuring timely and accurate inputs for both the commercial team and senior management's approval process. You will be the key point of contact for coordinating and managing the design process within the engineering team, liaising with other key departments, and ensuring that all technical solutions meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Documentation Review: Review and assess technical documentation provided by the client to extract and summarize relevant design information.
Coordination and Collaboration: Lead and coordinate the design process within the engineering team and collaborate with other departments such as testing, production, and commercial teams.
Design Review Meetings: Organize and conduct design review meetings with cross-functional teams to finalize technical solutions for project proposals.
Cost Estimation: Collect and provide cost inputs for materials, production, testing, and other relevant aspects to the commercial team.
Technical Risk Management: Conduct thorough technical risk assessments based on client requirements and proposed solutions, and implement mitigation strategies where feasible.
Contractual Support: Collaborate with legal and commercial teams to minimize technical risks in contracts and ensure alignment between technical and commercial aspects.
Technical Proposal Preparation: Develop comprehensive technical proposal documentation, ensuring all details are accurate and aligned with client specifications.
Subject Matter Expertise: Request and manage technical reports from subject matter experts, ensuring timely delivery and integration into proposals.
Client Negotiations: Lead technical discussions and alignment meetings with clients during the negotiation phase, ensuring all technical adjustments are communicated effectively to relevant teams.
Project Management: Oversee contract management, cost control, risk assessment, interface management, document control, and scheduling during the project execution phase.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in a lead engineering role within the offshore wind or renewable energy sector.
Strong understanding of electrical systems design, technical risk assessment, and project management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Proficiency in relevant engineering and project management software.
