About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our growing multidisciplinary engineering team in Indianapolis. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is passionate about solving complex geotechnical challenges and leading major infrastructure, transportation, and vertical construction projects.
As a senior member of the team, you will play a critical role in technical delivery, project leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and interfacing directly with clients and contractors. You will have the opportunity to contribute to landmark projects with construction values reaching up to $1 billion, offering exposure to some of the most significant engineering work in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, designs, and reports for a variety of infrastructure and development projects.
- Oversee field exploration programs, laboratory testing plans, and data interpretation.
- Develop foundation recommendations, slope stability analyses, settlement evaluations, retaining structure designs, and ground improvement strategies.
- Prepare and review geotechnical deliverables, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to clients, project managers, and internal teams.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and quality control processes.
- Mentor and support junior geotechnical staff, providing guidance on technical and professional development.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal writing and client presentations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; ability to obtain Indiana PE if not already held.
- Strong technical proficiency in geotechnical design software and analysis methods.
- Proven experience leading complex design projects and collaborating in multidisciplinary environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
