My client, a respected and growing multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Laurel, MD office. This is a high-impact leadership role with the unique opportunity to build and lead a mechanical engineering team, shape project delivery strategies, and contribute to the long-term growth of the firm's regional presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead HVAC and plumbing system design for a variety of building types.
- Manage projects from concept through construction, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing mechanical engineering team.
- Collaborate with internal disciplines and external partners to deliver integrated solutions.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and sustainability goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (or related field).
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical building systems design.
- Proven leadership experience and a passion for team development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office; energy modeling experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organizational, and client-facing skills.
