Compensation

Salary Range: $190,000 - $220,000 (California-based roles)
This range reflects our good‑faith estimate and may vary based on location and experience.


About the Role: Senior Project Manager, Power Generation

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee the execution of gas‑fired and hybrid energy infrastructure projects-including co‑located storage and digital infrastructure-from late‑stage development through construction, commissioning, and commercial operations.

This role may be based remotely, with periodic travel for in‑person collaboration.

The ideal candidate has deep field execution experience, excels at coordinating diverse stakeholders, and can manage complex interfaces across procurement, permitting, and engineering.


Responsibilities

Project Execution & Leadership

  • Manage project execution from late‑stage development through COD.
  • Coordinate permitting and commercial requirements with Development teams.
  • Interface with Engineering on design deliverables and technical specifications.
  • Develop/manage budgets, schedules, execution plans, and risk registers.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain performance reporting.

Procurement & Contracting

  • Lead procurement for engineering, construction, and equipment contracts (EPC, EPCM, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Legal on commercial terms and risk allocation.
  • Manage RFPs, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Administer contracts, including change management and compliance oversight.

Construction Management

  • Oversee field construction activities, including mobilization, safety, and scheduling.
  • Resolve field issues with contractors and engineering personnel.
  • Ensure QA/QC, inspections, and documentation standards are met.

Commissioning & Startup

  • Lead commissioning planning and readiness.
  • Oversee system turnover and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Asset Management during transition.

Risk, Compliance & Safety

  • Promote a strong safety culture.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, commercial, and schedule risks.
  • Ensure compliance with permitting, interconnection, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary execution contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Development, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and Operations.
  • Provide leadership updates, variance analysis, and decision-support recommendations.
  • Coordinate with lenders' engineers, regulators, and key commercial partners.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
  • 10+ years executing gas‑fired and/or hybrid utility‑scale energy infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from NTP through COD.
  • Hands-on experience with procurement, contracting, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Experience managing EPC contractors and major OEMs.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant systems and construction sequencing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license and/or PMP certification.
  • Familiarity with NERC compliance, permitting, and interconnection processes.
