We are seeking a seasoned Senior Restoration Architect to lead and inspire a team of architects and engineers on a diverse range of restoration and preservation projects throughout New York City. This role offers the opportunity to work on an exciting mix of projects from affordable housing to luxury high-rises, landmarked structures, and iconic architectural sites spanning all five boroughs.

As a Senior Restoration Architect, you will oversee project execution, team development, and client engagement across all phases, from initial planning to construction administration. You'll play a key role in shaping innovative solutions for building envelope restoration and historic preservation challenges.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple large-scale restoration projects, including historic and landmark properties.
  • Manage team organization, training, and resource planning.
  • Direct façade, roof, plaza, and garage restoration efforts.
  • Oversee building envelope inspections and restoration design.
  • Prepare and submit Local Law 11/FISP reports, including site inspections and documentation for DOB compliance.
  • Conduct building inspections using ground access, roof access, lifts, and scaffolding.
  • Develop plans, details, and specifications for restoration and architectural design projects.
  • Coordinate work to meet Landmark Preservation requirements.
  • Participate in contractor bid walkthroughs and review proposals.
  • Evaluate payment applications, change orders, and project schedules.
  • Build and maintain client relationships and assist with business development.
  • Mentor junior staff and review their work.
  • Estimate scope, staffing, and timelines for proposals.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant architectural experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Local Law 11/FISP experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required; Master's preferred.
  • Registered Architect (RA) license required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive experience with New York City projects.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $160,000
